Two essay responses are required of all applicants. Personal statements and/or autobiographies cannot substitute for the specific essay questions. Each essay must be typed, double-spaced, and approximately 2-3 pages in length. Indicate the essay number you are responding to and begin each essay on a separate sheet of paper. Type and sign your name on each page of your essay.

If you are not currently employed nor enrolled in an academic program, please describe fully your present circumstances in the additional optional essay and include a description of any activities in which you are involved.

Essay 1: Required of all applicants:

Discuss your specific career goals, both short and long term. Given your work experience and goals, how do think an MBA will add to your professional and personal development?

Essay 2: Required of all applicants:

Explain your specific reasons for wanting to pursue and MBA at the Katz School at the University of Pittsburgh. Describe what qualities you possess, responsibilities you have had, or experiences you have gained through your employment, extracurricular involvement, and community activities that will enable you to make a meaningful contribution to the MBA class.

Optional Essay:

If there is specific background information that has not yet been addressed and should be considered for your application review, please use this essay to elaborate. If you are not currently employed nor enrolled in an academic program, please describe fully your present circumstances and include a description of any activities in which you are involved.
