Application Deadlines for Vanderbilt MBA Class of 2008

- First Round
All decisions about first-round applicants will be made and communicated no later than
January 15, 2006.
January 15, 2006
- Second Round
Candidates interested in being considered for nomination as a Dean’s Scholar must apply by this date. Second-round decisions will be made on a rolling basis and mailed no later than
March 15, 2006.
March 1, 2006
- Third Round
All domestic and international candidates must apply by this date to ensure adequate time for application review, financial aid and visa processing, and relocation. Third-round decisions will be made on a rolling basis and mailed no later than
April 1, 2006.
We will accept and review international and domestic applications sent after
March 1, 2006, but admission will be offered on a space-available basis only. Due to limited resources, merit-based financial aid is not likely to be available for late applicants. We welcome applications throughout the year and will advise individuals promptly upon receipt of their applications.

Essays
You may submit the two required essays with your online application or on paper. In the essays you should explain how your background, experience, interests, and values fit with your career plans; discuss the challenges and opportunities facing an industry or functional area of interest to you. Each essay is limited to
three double-spaced pages with a font size of
10 to 12 points and
no more than 500 words.
If necessary, you may provide an additional statement to explain poor academic performance, weak test scores, significant gaps in full-time employment, lack of recommendation from your current or most recent supervisor, academic misconduct, violations of the law, or anything else that you think is important for the Admissions Committee to know about you that is not already addressed elsewhere in your application. All additional statements should be typed or neatly written.
Please respond to each question below by following its respective link. As a guideline, required Essays 1 and 2 should be no more than 500 words in length. Optional Essay 3 should be only as long as necessary.
1.
REQUIRED: Explain your short-term and long-term career plans as specifically as possible. When combined with a Vanderbilt MBA degree, how will your previous experiences and personal attributes enable you to pursue these goals successfully?
2.
REQUIRED: Discuss significant challenges and opportunities currently facing the industry or functional area in which you plan to work after completing your MBA degree. As a change agent and visionary leader, how would you approach these issues to have a positive impact on business and society?
3.
OPTIONAL: You are strongly encouraged to provide an additional statement to clarify and explain any of the following: gaps of more than three months in full-time employment, poor academic performance, weak test scores, lack of recommendation from your current or most recent supervisor, academic misconduct, violations of the law, or anything else you think is important for the Admissions Committee to know about you that is not already addressed elsewhere in your application.
