Essays
The required essays allow the Admissions committee to learn about you, your accomplishments and your professional aspirations. Please prepare these essays thoughtfully and candidly. Follow the instructions and carefully adhere to the maximum word limit that is listed with each essay question. Responses should be double-spaced and each page should clearly list your name and the essay topic.
Essay 1 - GOALS STATEMENT
(750 words maximum)(required for Full-Time, Evening and Global MBA applicants)
Applicants with a plan for their future and with a good grasp of what is expected of them as MBA students are the most successful students in our program. We know plans change, and we know people often pursue an MBA to create new career options. Please tell us about your plans. Ideally, your essay should answer all the following questions: Why are you pursuing an MBA degree? What do you expect to do immediately after completing the MBA program? What is your primary lifetime career goal? How do your life and work experiences to date move you closer to these personal objectives? What specific things will the MBA experience contribute to your post-MBA and lifetime career goals? What unique aspects of the
University of
Washington MBA Program, if any, would contribute the most to achieving your goals?
Essay 2 - OVERVIEW
Please provide an essay response to the following question. Observe the word limit and use a minimum font size of 10. Double-space your response and clearly label the essay with the topic and your full name. If you are applying to more than one program, you will need to submit the appropriate 2nd essay for EACH program you are applying to.
